Donna Judd spends each day carefully searching for valuable information for veterans in the documents left burned and brittle by the 1973 fire at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis.

She looks for separation documents so that veterans can get benefits, and she sifts through damaged files to find information for medals.

“One record could take 5 minutes, another record could take 5 hours,” she says.

Where on the internet can I find the SS death index?

Asked by an anonymous Tumblr user.

The Social Security Administration Death Master File is a record of deaths reported to the Administration.

The Death Master File is not available online from the Social Security Administration. You can purchase it from the National Technical Information Service.

Other websites offer the Death Master File, but these are not endorsed by the Social Security Administration. The Social Security Administration cannot confirm if these websites are either accurate or current.

can i obtain copies of my va records in nc

If you are a veteran, you can get copies of your military or other service records from the National Archives. You can request the records online or by mail or fax.

If you want to get copies of medical records from a VA medical facility, you’ll need to submit a written request directly to the hospital or clinic. The request should detail what records you are requesting, why you are requesting those records, and to whom they are to be released.
