Reading. Blogging. Gardening. Collecting piggy banks, or velvet paintings of sad clowns. piggy bank collection

Nearly anything can be a hobby. Celebrate your favorite pastimes and collections, revive old interests or begin new ones with your family during National Hobby Month.

The government web has lots of resources for stamp collectors, Civil War enthusiasts, coin collectors, and bird watchers. Take a look and see what info the government has about the things that interest you.

Me? I collect vintage Little Orphan Annie memorabilia and old time advertising, among other things. I enjoy baking for my coworkers and neighbors. I also fuss around in my garden with flowers and tomato plants—some of which actually survive my tender loving torture.

What are your hobbies?

I raise Syrian hamsters in rare colors and give them away to families, teachers, and young pet owners. I've owned hamsters for 35 years and I treasure raising the little darling and seeing them bring happpiness to the lives of others. I don't sell hamsters, accessories, or anything else, strictly a hobby. Pics/Video - http://a.tinyurl.com/Fall2008Hamsters

A little late for January but anyway I'm surprised there haven't been any comments so far with so many diverse hobbies. Some of mine are: computer music, radio controlled boats/helicopters, chess, backgammon, disc golf, karting and racing simulators.

By the way many of the above are a fabulous route for parents to get kids interested in science and technology (of which this country is in desperate need) while both parties are having loads of fun.
