New Veterans Job-Search Website Connects Employers with Service Members

Service members, veterans and their families who are looking for jobs now have a one-stop shop where they can create resumes, connect with employers and become part of a database for companies to search.

Because the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are winding down veterans are in need of guidance and jobs as they transition into civilian life. The new website, ebenefits.va.gov, helps simplify the job-searching process, letting veterans and their spouses build resumes, get career training, and convert their military skills into private sector skills—all online on one website.

Veterans will have access to:

  • Quick public resume posting with an instant connection to thousands of public and private employers

  • Targeted job searches based on specific, high-demand career paths

  • A single search for both public and private sector positions

  • A military skills translator and resume generator

  • Social media integration with bookmarking capability for saving job postings

Employers will have access to:

  • A targeted feed of qualified resumes from veteran applicants

  • Reverse skills translation (military to civilian skills) for applicants

  • A showcase of their veterans hiring goals and progress toward those goals

  • Resources designed to help recruit and retain talented veteran employees
